I recently came across an article about Al Sharpton making obnoxious comments about Trump at Aretha Franklin’s funeral. I did a quick google search on the event and can only say thank goodness President Trump did not attend.
I came across a photo from the funeral that featured the racist talking heads Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Al Sharpton (former adviser to Obama) and Rev. Jesse Jackson, all sitting side by side in front and center stage. Additionally former United States president Bill Clinton also sat in the row.
I am appalled Louis Farrakhan was welcomed to such a public event like that. I have noted numerous times how Farrakhan is one of the most notorious anti-Semites in the United States. He has a history of saying “Hitler was a very great man,” making plenty of racist and hateful statements, excusing Palestinian suicide bombers, and on top of that is banned from the United Kingdom. His unchallenged presence shows how backwards the media is in reporting information. Recall the national headlines when Trump’s ex-wife claimed Trump slept with Mein Kampf beside his bed? Where are the national headlines about Farrakhan’s anti-Semitism and affiliations with big name Democrats like Barack Obama, Maxine Waters and Keith Ellison?
On top of that, it is even more appalling to see a former United States president Bill Clinton, and former adviser to a US president, Rev. Al Sharpton, sit beside Farrakhan without a problem. It is concerning that anti-Semitism and racism has made it to this point in politics.
Of course Hillary Clinton was in attendance, as well as “voice of the resistance” Maxine Waters. According to reports, Rev. Jesse Jackson gave a shout out to Waters in his speech, and she responded by crossing her arms over her chest (a gesture from the movie ‘Black Planther’). People in the audience, including Bill Clinton, stood and applauded for Waters.
Needless to say, I am so glad that Trump, the President of the United States, was not in attendance with this heinous group. I hope he stays far away from them in the future, and I hope they stop exploiting the deaths of world renowned names like Aretha Franklin.
