I recently launched the organization Nordic Republicans to unite and represent Republicans in the Nordic region, specifically in the countries Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland.
There are Americans located all over the world who retain their US citizenship and continue to vote in United States elections. Political organizations, such as Democrats Abroad and Republicans Overseas, have sprouted up to provide Americans abroad the opportunity to be politically engaged, learn about policies that apply to them and understand how to obtain a ballot to vote.
Since living in Sweden for over two years, I acknowledged there needs to be a Republican organization for the entire Nordic region. This led to the idea of Nordic Republicans. The organization will be online-oriented at this point in time. Over time involved members will have the opportunity to attend events and meet people of influence while representing the organization.
This is an exciting project since it opens many doors in developing contacts with individuals, groups and organizations, not only in the United States but also internationally. It will also allow US-based Republicans, and the general public, to gain more insight of what it is like living in the Nordic region, and what political issues are being dealt with here. There are many opportunities to be had and discussions to take place.
